I created an animation test shot for the Pick n Mix project to show that I can animate dancing from both my imagination and from reference footage. the first video is the simple line drawings, and the second is a cleaned up on 3s, to be animated on 1's over the Christmas, or I might just do another one or two with the other two characters with different dance styles. maybe have samuel do the robot... who knows :)

Storyboarding at its Finest
So I blocked out a traditional ball room dance sequence between two of the 'prisoner' 'competitors' for the Strictly Come Dancing: Prison Edition' final test animation. I did, however have to watch hours and hours of Strictly youtube videos to look at the leg extensions and how they held their heads. Problem was, one is meant to be a professional in traditional strictly series, so Im not exactly sure how this would work, I just made them semi professional dancers making some mistakes like dropping the elbow or looking at feet instead of the partner.
As you can probably guess, I know almost nothing about dancing or what a storyboard should apparently look like.

Life Drawing
i think my life drawings getting a little too, expressive? the proportions are getting better, and the contrast seems to be increasing at every class but... I'm liking the work I'm finally creating. not getting so grossed out when the models drop their robes. took me long enough.

Life Drawing
So life drawing got a little interesting last week... Loved it. I was feeling rediculously creative and inspired, though it may have been because the life drawing teacher told me he'd never seen me before or my art style in the class room and i was so offended that i thought.. wow. really....
muscle formation
been looking at the Art Book for Students published in 1890. it has quite a few templates and pull out drawings so i thought id attempt to recreate one of their pull out pages.

African Animals
Not exactly sure why i was possessed into drawing all these strange looking animals, especially with the kind of mood I'm in at the moment but i quite like the way they came out.. theyre not photorealistic by any means and the third one you cant even tell what i was trying to draw, but the style has now intrigued me and i think i might start drawing this way more often. its rather... expressive? i know its not expressive in the sense of dashing paint at a canvass but its got its own kind of character ... 7 year old learning to draw from a book kind of character... but its nice to go back to the basics every now and then.
